The foundation for all DW is our faith in God and the Lord Jesus Christ. The Cross is the pivot-point around which all our beliefs and activities revolve.
Our future as DW is built upon our heritage and the faith and vision of our foremothers. In 1874, Caroline Neville Pearre organized women of the Christian Women’s Board of Missions. Jessie Trout, in 1949, birthed the Christian Women’s Fellowship. The symbol of CWF is now encompassed within the larger circle of women’s ministry, empowering women’s work and witness. Disciples Women embrace others. We are nurturing and all inclusive. We include women of all races and colors, of all nationalities and languages.
Colors GREEN chosen to denote growth. WHITE denotes purity. Scripture “We declare unto you what we have seen and heard so that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ” (I John 1:3). The scripture was chosen by our founder Jessie Trout. Purpose To provide opportunities for spiritual growth, enrichment, education, and creative ministries to enable women to develop a sense of personal responsibility for the whole mission of the church of Jesus Christ. Prayer Unto You, O God, we give thanks and lift our hearts in prayer. May your Presence be with us and Your love surround us as we work together as women of faith. Open our eyes to the needs of the world and fill our hearts with concern for all people. Guide us that we may truly serve You through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen. The Prayer was written by Freda Putnam, first ICWF president, and Hazel Rudduck, first ICWF vice-president. Benediction God, be merciful unto us and bless us; And cause Your face to shine upon us; That Your way may be known upon the earth, Your saving health among the nations, Through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen. Based on Psalm 67:1-2
